Tuesday, May 1: Please pray for the team from Georgia that will come in May to work in the mountains of Lesotho. Pray that they would be used strategically to evangelize and disciple new believers.Wednesday, May 2: Please pray for Zachary and Eli Melvin as they work on their school work. They have had a heavy load and it would be easy for them to get behind in their work during this transition time. Please pray that they would have good attitudes toward Cindi as she teaches them and with one another since they are together all the time. Thursday, May 3: Pray for the missionary women of the CESA (Central, Eastern and Southern Africa) Region as we meet together this week in Kenya. Pray for the Lord to renew our spirits and commitment to His calling on our lives. Friday, May 4: Please pray that each of the Basotho team members would be filled daily with God’s compassion for the Basotho. Saturday, May 5: Are you faithful to pray for the Basotho? As Basotho Team missionaries, we are well aware of the faithfulness of our many prayer partners to pray for us; however, the Basotho also need faithful prayer on their behalf. Please pray daily for the Basotho to have the opportunity to hear the Truth of the gospel message. Pray for many more to commit to faithful prayer on behalf of the Basotho in the Lowlands and Mountains of Lesotho and in South Africa. Sunday, May 6: Pray for Wes today as he meets with Ntate and Mme Mokhathi to study the TEE course, “Life of Christ – Part 2.” Pray that the Mokhatis will make what they are learning a part of their every day lives. Monday, May 7: Please pray for the volunteers from Buck Run Baptist Church in Kentucky as they meet together in preparation to spend time among the Basotho of South Africa. Pray that all the details of their travel will be easily worked out. Tuesday, May 8: Please pray for Tom and Cindi as they evaluate the potential for using True Love Waits (TLW) as a church planting tool in the Lowlands of Lesotho. TLW is a Biblical curriculum that teaches facts regarding HIV and AIDS. Wednesday, May 9: Pray for the mountain valley of Ha Seshote. The Dials have had the opportunity to share the Gospel in all but two villages in this valley. Pray for their plans to return to these villages and that a church planting movement would take hold in the valley.Thursday, May 10: Pray for the Dials as they look toward their stateside assignment and time away from Lesotho. Give them clarity as they complete all that must be done as they prepare to head home. Friday, May 11: Please pray for other Christian leaders to join the TEE Committee in Lesotho. Pray for the Committee as it transitions from a translation committee to a course implementation committee. Saturday, May 12: The Melvins are headed to the bush for an entire month!!! Please pray for the 40/40 (cultural training) that is being held in Zambia. Pray that they would learn many valuable skills in and gather many cultural tools to aid them in working among the Basotho in the lowlands of Lesotho. Sunday, May 13: Have you visited our website recently? As a team, we are making an effort to keep it updated and current so that you can more effectively pray for the Basotho. Please give thanks for those who have volunteered their time, knowledge and resources to managing the website. Monday, May 14: Please pray for the people of the mountain village of Ha Ramokoatsi. Alan and Babs recently completed sharing the Gospel through a series of Biblical stories. Pray that a church will result from the time and faithfulness of their labor in this village. Tuesday, May 15: Continue to pray for the Dials and their housing situation. There is reason to believe that the home they are in will be sold shortly by the owners and suitable housing is very difficult to come by in the mountains. Wednesday, May 16: Pray for the Melvins as they are constantly adjusting to moving in and out of their new environment due to various meetings and conferences. Pray that they will have patience with the Basotho and one another. Thursday, May 17: Pray for the Dials, Melvins and Gestrings as they travel the narrow and poorly paved roads of Lesotho. Friday, May 18: Please pray that many would attend the weekly Bible study in Bohlokong township. The study was started by Moruti Selepe to reach people who were unable to attend church on Sundays due to work. Saturday, May 19 : Pray for Carla as she continues to lead a group of 15 young women in Bible study based upon TLW. Please pray that the young women would find their value in Christ and not base it upon the disintegrating values of the world. Sunday, May 20: Please pray for all of the Basotho churches today. Pray that they Lord would guard them from false teaching and that the members of each church would find strength and encouragement from coming together for worship. Monday, May 21: The women of the Missouri WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) are so faithful to pray for the ministry among the Basotho. As a team, we want to thank each of them and pray that God will reward your faithfulness to this ministry. Tuesday, May 22: Please pray for the spiritual discipline for each of our team members as it is easy to become caught up in the work and neglect our own relationship with the Lord. Wednesday, May 23: Please pray for the group of pastors wives that are studying together with Carla on Friday nights. Pray that they would not be overwhelmed with all the responsibilities they shoulder in addition to their commitment to learn all they can from the Word of God. Thursday, May 24: In the village of Ha Romokoatsi, a small boy of about 5 years of age is being trained in the Sangoma (witch doctor) ways and practices because the badimo (ancestor spirits) revealed it to the boy’s father in a dream. Pray for this child that God would powerfully speak to his father in dreams and visions to release his son from this satanic hold. Pray that salvation comes to this family, to this village and to the nation of Lesotho. Friday, May 25: Please pray that the Basotho pastors would remain faithful to their calling. Pray that they would not give into temptations that would injure the congregations they lead. Saturday, May 26: Please pray for the Melvins as they continue to acquaint themselves with the needs and current ministry opportunities in the Lowlands. Pray that they would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in determining where best to focus their attention. Sunday, May 27: Pray for Chief Hutto of the Khohlo-Ntso village that he will come to know the Christ of the cross and the resurrection. Pray that he will lead his people out of spiritual darkness into the light of spiritual truth in Christ. Monday, May 28: Please pray for the volunteer mission team from Fall Creek Baptist in Kentucky that will come this winter (summer in the U.S.) to work among the Basotho of South Africa. Tuesday, May 29: Join us in giving thanks today for the churches in the States who have committed to partnering with us in the ministry among the Basotho of the Eastern Free State, South Africa. Wednesday, May 30: Pray for the volunteers from the Winston Baptist Association of Alabama as they prepare to return for the second year to work with Basotho of South Africa. Thursday, May 31: Please pray for comfort and encouragement for the parents of Tom and Cindi as their children and grandchildren are so far away.
