Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philipians 4:11-13)

Internal Mission Board's Ladies Conference in Kenya.

In our updates we asked you to pray for us, the Basotho Team wives, as we prepared to travel to Kenya to attend the Internal Mission Board's Ladies Conference.

The conference theme was "The Secret of Contentment."   The verse selected for the conference was from Phillipians 4:11-13.  This time and this theme could not have come at a better time for me personally.  We recently were told that the mobile home we lived in was being sold and we would have to find another place to live.  Housing in the mountains is very limited and our only other option seemed to be either move inside of the village which houses the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) staff or move down to the lowlands and commute back into the mountains each month.  Having commuted before, I struggled with knowing the physical drain on our bodies that commuting would cause and did not want to be separated from those to whom we minister and witness.

At the conference I reconciled myself to be content in where ever God decided to place us knowing that He would provide for all our needs, both physical and spiritual.

Each morning we met with about 240 other ladies from all over our CESA (Central Eastern and Southern Africa) for a time of praise and worship led by our worship leader  Paulie Heath.  Paulie is from Augusta, Maine.  She is the mother of three children and has devoted her life to God sharing her faith through music and personal testamony.  She is a successful and highly recognized music artist and has produced six recording projects.  She currently partners with Women of the Harvest.  Paulie has a gift of writing prayers and putting them to music and she permitted us to join her in praising and lifting up our voices and hearts to the Lord.  During the week she helped us to be real in our worship.

The guest speaker was Cynthia Heald, author of more than 14 books among which is  "Woman of Excellence." Cynthia is from Houson, Texas and she and her husband has been affiliated with Navigators since 1978.  She is the mother of four children and the grandmother of eight.   She is known both nationally and internationally as a women's seminar speaker.  We were blessed by the Word that she brought to us each day.

During the week Phillipians 4:11-13 became part of me and I resolved to be content with whatever God chose to do in my life and where ever He so chose for me to live and minister.  There is just something to be said for getting alone with God and being real.

We are so thankful for our regional leaders and all those who worked so hard to make it happen and we are especially thankful to Cynthia and Paulie for their faithfulness, their humor, and their desire to share their faith with other women.  They were truly an inspiration to all who were there.

As far as the rest of the story....I returned home to receive the keys to our new home inside Katse Village.  We are very happy and enjoying our new home.  We give thanks to God who is our Provider in all things and for the secret of contentment found in Him.
