Hope you are all
well, we are doing good. Anna's hand is 100% better! We have received
word that our VISA is approved! Now we can file the paperwork to have
our crate delivered! The girls will be so excited to see their things
again. In January, we boxed everything up. They keep asking if their
Barbies are in the crate, if their beads are in the crate, and it will
be a huge party when they see all of their things again. If you have
been keeping up with our blog/website you know that we have made our
first trip to "our" mountains in the Mokhotlong region. God has
answered our prayers and shown us clearly where we should live and begin
our ministry. When visiting the village we asked about already
established churches in the area. The people told us there was one
church in the village. Two of the first three ladies that we met did
not attend. We asked for the name of the church and did not recognize
it. We have asked several people and they too had no idea what this
church was all about. Today we received an email from a missionary that
we met in JoBurg. He is not an IMB missionary, but was staying in the
Baptist Mission Housing in JoBurg when we were there. He told us in his
note today that he was able to find out that the church in our village
is a Zionist church. The Zionist church in Africa is a mixture of the
Catholic church syncronized with African Traditional Religion (worship
of ancestors). There is NO evangelical presence anywhere near our
village. We had asked God to send us to a place where He has not been
named. He again has answered our prayers. Please begin to pray now
that God will open the eyes of our people to the truth of Christ.

Hi to
everyone,
August 6, 2009
Just
a quick note to give an update on Anna and the continued saga of her
hand. NO CHANGE. She has now had 6 doses of her antibiotic. If there
is no change by Friday we will call the medical dept at the IMB and
probably have to head to JoBurg. She really doesn't feel bad, just has
some discomfort in her hand anytime she moves it.
We
were able to get down the mountain today and were able to keep our plans
to visit Mokhotlong for the first time. Our languge tutor had to
be off this week, so this was the best time for us to make our first
survey trip. It is all that we imagined and more. The actual town of
Mokhotlong is a booming place. There are at least 2 China grocery
stores, hardware stores, a chemist, and tons of small shops. There is a
"clinic" that I will NEVER take anyone that I love to. It was good to
know that there were some resources there. We will be able to get some
groceries, fuel, horse feed, and hardware without having to go into S.
Africa. Tomorrow we are going to meet a chief in a village about 2 hours
from here. He is the one that has promised us land if we would move
there and being our ministry with his people in his village. Please pray
that God gives us insight into exactly where we should plant our
family. Well, gotta go take a bath with absolutely NO hot water in this
"hotel". We have one very small heater and right now my nose is
freezing. I have attached a couple of pictures or our new home..Love
you all, Teresa
