Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. 2 Corinthians 5:9

Prayer and Praise

Pray for Tom and Cindi as they continue to share what God is doing in Lesotho while on their stateside assignment.

Pray for the groups of Baptists we have been working with in Lesotho to stand firm and continue growing in their faith while we are away from Lesotho.

Since leaving Lesotho in August, two Baptist leaders in the lowlands have passed away. Pray for the families of Pastor Lebusa and Me Mamolebatsi.

Pray for strength and healing of our friend and co-laborer in Christ, Carl who is faithful to keep the Basotho website updated. Carl was recently diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment. Pray for his wife Arline as she cares for Carl during this time.

Pray for Southern Baptists to respond generously and consistently with prayer and giving so that work among the nations can continue without delay or interruption.

Pray for Tom’s brother John who is recovering from surgery, Tom’s mother, Jean, experiencing declining health, church friend Howard Mayo in the loss of his wife.

Praise God for Zachary’s adjustment to college life at Liberty and Eli at Dinwiddie High School. They are both doing well.

Praise God for providing opportunities to develop new relationships with Baptist churches willing to pray for our family and the work in Lesotho.

Praise God for times of refreshing and spending time with family.

The Melvins arrived in the U.S. in early August to a wonderful surprise welcome by family and many friends from Ironbridge Baptist Church. It was great to see so many familiar faces. We became busy very quickly preparing Zachary for college and Eli for high school. Since then we have been blessed to share God’s story and what He’s doing in Lesotho in many different church services, Sunday school classes, and homes. It is always a joy and privilege to testify of God’s faithfulness and love for the nations. We have attended two IMB conferences with opportunities to be spiritually refreshed  and meet and reunite with missionaries from around the world.

Zachary is at “home” at Liberty University. He has many new friends and is consistently growing in his faith. Eli has adjusted to high school, likes his classes, and is making very good grades.

When Tom and Cindi aren’t traveling to various churches, they are staying with Cindi’s parents and Eli in Dinwiddie, Va. Everyone is enjoying being close to family and the beautiful colors and smells of autumn and the anticipation of the holidayseason. If we are not scheduled to be at your church while in the U.S. we would really like hearing from you. Please contact us via email and we will be in touch. Blessings to you all.
