To our Prayer Partners,
The Melvins are well in Lesotho. Zachary and Eli have
returned to school while Tom and Cindi continue working in the villages
and a new school.
The church in the village of Vukazensela is
growing and we will begin a leadership training class there this Sunday.
The village Bible studies continue and the people
are asking good questions about sin, salvation, and the
worship of ancestors. A follow up trip was made to a
village where the Ironbridge Baptist Church volunteer team did broad
seed sowing back in July. Our hope is to start a Bible study there
whenever God opens the door for a place. We are having weekly follow up
sessions and helping to form a True Love Waits Club at Ants Basic High
School in Ha Foso and we continue to study Sesotho with a language
helper a few hours a week.
There is an opportunity for
you
to be on mission with God and help us reach more Basotho with the
message of Christ in 2009. Team leaders from Ironbridge Baptist
in Chester, VA, are in the early stages of organizing a volunteer
trip to Lesotho next June. The trip will most likely include a
combination of discipleship training, leadership training, women and
youth ministries, and evangelism.
Pray about
how God might be able to use your
availability
to share His Son with a people who are blinded from
the truth by traditions, religiosity, and false teaching. You can
contact us for moreinformation.
Thank you for your faithfulness to remain part of
the Basotho lowlands team by either praying, giving to Lottie Moon or
the Cooperative Program, being part of a volunteer team, or staying in
touch. Remember, we’re only an email away!
Prayers of praise and concern:
*Praise God for the commitments
of pure living made by high schoolers. Pray they will grow strong in the
Lord through the follow up teaching
*Praise God for raising up a leader, Tsepo, for the growing
Vukazensela church.
Pray
God will bless his commitment and provide for his needs in order
to serve the church.
*Praise
God for providing a new interpreter for weekday Bible studies.
Pray for more interpreters who are able and willing to help with
ministry and for our language learning.
*Praise for warmer temperatures so that we can encounter more
Basotho out and about.
Pray
for rain so that the Basotho can plant and not face hunger.
*Praise for health and safety for the Melvin family.
Pray for us to draw closer than ever to the Lord and each other
as we enjoy Zachary’s senior year together.
