Birthday Party for Jesus in the Lowlands of Lesotho

Kids Archives  16-Jan-2008

Basotho children are just like any other children.  They love to play games, eat sweets, listen to stories, and feel loved.  These children, several who are orphans, live with family members who work as prison guards and live in government housing near the Melvin family serving with the IMB in the lowlands of Lesotho.  The Melvin family met most of the children when they first arrived to Maseru in January of 2007 and have come to know them very well.  They pray as they share the love of Christ and HIS story, these children will one day make the decision to receive God’s free gift of salvation through Jesus.

Children arrive and use the newly renovated office
for a one day VBS with a Christmas theme.

All enjoyed making a craft that could be used
to retell the Christmas Story at home.

The children listened closely to learn about the Word of God.

The Christmas Story came alive using flannel pictures.

Outdoor games added more fun to the Party.

Water balloon toss was a big HIT!

Neo was the youngest to attend.

Children learn about the Gift of salvation.

Witnessing bracelet can also tell a story.

Children amazed by the Jesus Film in their heart language.

Jesus is born.

Our friend, Retabile, (foreground) couldn’t take his eyes off the film.
