I had stopped by the
service station to get petrol
(gasoline) for my truck. I’m talking about a real
service station where the
attendants come up to your window offering to check the oil, fill the
tank, add air to the tires, and clean your windshield. It’s like living
back in the 60’ except that the attendants often expect a tip. As my
attendant was filling up the truck, out of the nowhere another Basotho
attendant came up to my window and said; “Did you just see the policeman
go by?” Puzzled and a little worried I replied. “No!” so… he proceeds to
clean my windshield. When he finished he said; “Now you won’t miss him,
you have a clean windshield” Well, say no more. He got me… He tricked
me… He was trying to earn a tip but as I handed him a Loti and politely
said thank you, I saw an opportunity to share the
Good News with him. I said;
“Ok, now that I can see, can I help you to see?” It was his turn to give
a puzzled look. The shoe was now on the other foot. He agreed to listen
to what I had to say. I began to wash his spiritual windshield by sharing
the gospel message with him in English and what little Sesotho I knew.
The bit of Sesotho I spoke also seemed to peek the interest of another
attendant who stopped pumping gas and came over to listen. Picture this
if you will. Two Basotho attendants leave their pumps (jobs) to hear what
a Makhooa [sounds like Ma-hoa] (white man) has to say. To clarify the
message I handed him a tract that read; “What Must I Do to Be Born Again”
written in Sesotho. I must say the conversation went well and I believe
in my heart that the offer to see more clearly was fruitful. Only God
knows what decision was made that day. Praise the Lord. Jesus has
offered cleansing through the blood that He shed for us on the cross at
Calvary. God is calling all men through His Son that they might see
clearly. How about cleaning a few spiritual windshields today by sharing
the message of Christ?

Pray for Rasoai
Mokebisa that he may see Christ with his heart and be enlightened
Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes
of your heart may be
enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His
calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the
saints,
